Dožam, a five-piece album, combines traditional Iranian music with electroacoustic sounds and techniques, with each track based on a specific Iranian mode. For each piece, Kimia collaborated with a performer based in Iran—the place where she learned music and can truly call home. Dožam, meaning a collection of feelings such as anger, sadness, frustration, and distress, brings together sounds and resonances to create sonic worlds that may echo the shared experiences felt across the world.
